Our Collective Arts Toronto (CATO) space is looking for a leader with an extensive hospitality background in the city of Toronto. In this role the successful candidate needs to be a strategic/creative thinker, business leader, a proactive solution seeker, and a superb communicator. This candidate will exhibit and uphold Collective Arts’ standards of excellence in all areas of operations including hospitality, customer service, health and safety and finances. As the General Manager, the candidate will lead work with the space's leadership team and current staff to successfully execute all daily operations and events.A typical day as a General Manager includes:Interacting with guests to obtain feedback on service and both food and beverage product quality.Looking for continuous improvement opportunities to drive the space forward.Coordinating daily assignments and activities of staff to meet the needs of the business.Managing budget, scheduling and sales forecasting for the Toronto location.Ensuring that all space policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs are followed and completed on a timely basis.Working as the in-house trainer to coach current staff and lead by example on service standards.Collaborating with the Director, Spaces and the Brand Marketing team to successfully plan and execute monthly events, including concerts, trivia, and private parties.We’re looking for candidates who have/are:Preferably a post-secondary degree with a major concentration in hospitality, restaurant management, or a business-related field.3-5 years of experience in restaurant management with experience on the finance/operations side of the business.Proven excellent customer service and building strong client relationships.Hands-on people management experience with strong leadership, management, and coaching skills.Bonus points if you have:Experience with restaurant openings.Experience leading by example.Previous experience working in the Toronto beverage industry.An understanding of the craft beverage industry or the willingness to learn the industry quickly.Collective Arts is an equal-opportunity, affirmative action employer.
