The Junior Project Manager plays a key support role within our Power Generation Projects team, assisting with the coordination and execution of power generation projects from initiation through to delivery and close-out. Working closely with senior Project Managers, Sales, and Technical teams, this position supports project planning, procurement, scheduling, and documentation while ensuring all activities are aligned with Total Power's standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role offers a development pathway toward a full Project Manager position and provides exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle within Canada's leading power generation solutions provider. Core Competencies (The Ideal Fit) Foundational understanding of power generation systems, generators, and electrical equipment Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrates Integrity by acting with honesty and professionalism in all dealings Takes Accountability for assigned tasks and follows through on commitments Works collaboratively and contributes to Teamwork across departments and project teams Strives for Excellence in quality, service delivery, and continuous learning Positive attitude with a customer-focused mindset and willingness to learn Sound judgment and ability to seek direction when needed Key Responsibilities Project Coordination and Support Assist Project Managers with coordinating all phases of power generation projects, including technical reviews, submittals, procurement, logistics, and commissioning Support preparation and tracking of documentation such as drawings, purchase orders, equipment lists, and customer submittals Review and understand customer requirements, ensuring alignment with scope and specifications Assist with developing project schedules, monitoring milestones, and updating progress reports Track and report on project costs, supplier deliveries, and change orders under guidance from the Project Manager Maintain organized and complete project files within Total Power's project management systems Communicate effectively with internal departments—Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, and Service—to ensure project milestones are achieved Participate in meetings with customers, consultants, and suppliers to support information sharing and relationship building Assemble as-built documentation, final reports, and project close-out packages Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and schematics as required Customer and Supplier Relations Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication to clients and vendors under the supervision of a Project Manager Support coordination with suppliers to confirm order accuracy, delivery timelines, and technical compliance Ensure that all external communications reflect Total Power's standards of Integrity and professionalism Continuous Improvement and Learning Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities Contribute to refining project documentation, templates, and internal processes Adhere to all company safety policies and actively participate in Total Power's health and safety initiatives Pursue continuous professional growth through company-sponsored training and mentorship from senior project leaders Requirements and Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in a project coordination, technical, or related role (experience in the power generation, electrical, or industrial sectors preferred) Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Basic knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and generator applications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Project Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and reporting Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code and CSA standards is an asset Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drawing software is considered an advantage Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team Professional conduct consistent with Total Power's core values of Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, and Excellence Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites or supplier locations as required Working Conditions Primarily office-based with occasional travel to customer sites, suppliers, or project locations Manual dexterity required for computer use and handling technical documentation Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines Ability to lift or move up to 10 lbs as needed Career Development The Junior Project Manager role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and mentorship from industry experts at Total Power.
