Role Description:The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for supporting the efficiency of the procurement and inventory functions. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely replenishment of inventory items and supporting both immediate needs and long-term planning within the Operations.Inventory Management:*Analyze and manage non-stock and direct purchases to ensure optimal usage and cost control.*Coordinate inventory replenishment activities, including: re-order point replenishment, on-demand replenishment and long-term planning replenishment.*Work closely with procurement, operations and planning teams to forecast and align inventory levels.*Maintain accurate inventory data within the ERP and support continuous improvement activities.*Identify risks and opportunities within the inventory processes to improve efficiency.*Develop and maintain inventory performance metrics and reporting tools to track KPI's such as inventory turns, stockout rates and lead times.*Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to anticipate demand for critical spares and consumables*Support audits and compliance reviews by ensuring inventory records and documentation meet internal controls and regulatory standards.*Support inventory cycle counts and reconciliation efforts to maintain inventory accuracy and reduce discrepancies*Participate in supply chain optimization initiatives, including vendor evaluations and process improvements.*Assist in the implementation and testing of ERP system upgrades and related digital tools to enhance inventory visibility and control*Any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time. Operational Excellence:*Commit to continuous learning and improvement.*Continually seek to improve your skills as an Inventory Coordinator*Watch for inefficiencies or problems*Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.*Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems*Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost)*Review the daily, weekly and monthly KPI's performance against the supply chain plan and report non-conformances related to the targets.*Understand and recalibrate non-conformances to the plan and KPI targets and develop mitigating/corrective actions to achieve the longer term plan Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability:*Coordinate with other team members on site to meet deliverables*Participate in and lend your expertise to the team*Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided*Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up*Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholdersQualifications: Post secondary education is preferable in business administration, commerce, supply chain or related program2 years or more of inventory management experience within a supply chain teamAbility to lead changeStrong safety conscience backgroundUnderstanding of safety stock and inventory planning methodologies considered an assetStrong computer skillsExceptional interpersonal skills
