About the Role:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly motivated and organized Student Life Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of programs designed to promote the active engagement of students. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant to the Dean of Students, Student Life and Leadership, to promote community development, academic success, and personal growth of students through program implementation, leadership development, and informal interactions with students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars and workshops
  • Organize, summarize, and circulate program and/or course evaluations
  • Develop content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Foster cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Liaise with internal contacts to ensure consistent administration of embedded student support services
  • Respond to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirect as appropriate
  • Screen and make referrals to appropriate resources and services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent and related experience providing administrative and advising support to student leaders and student organizations in a post-secondary education institution
  • Experience administering leadership programs
  • Experience with student-focused event planning, promotion, and execution
  • Experience supporting the development of co-curricular activities
  • Experience working with and advising students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience administering mentorship programs
  • Experience advising student groups
  • Experience writing content for and maintaining websites
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to provide effective guidance and advice to students, student leaders, and organizations in a responsive, empathetic, thoughtful, and discreet manner
  • Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and organize work, and meet tight deadlines while able to pay attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion
