The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Low Temperature Geochemistry. This is a tenure-track academic appointment in the Faculty of Science, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in the field of low temperature geochemistry, with a focus on biogeochemistry, climate change, environmental change, geobiology, geoengineering, geohazards, green energy, hydrology, or sedimentary processes.
- Teach across the broad spectrum of Earth and environmental sciences, including undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
- Maintain a strong track record of attracting research funding and promoting a competitive publication record.
- PhD in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Environmental Sciences.
- Outstanding independent research achievements in the field of low temperature geochemistry.
- Proof of interdisciplinary collaborations and a solid record of teaching and training of students at the graduate level.
- Strong record of external research funding and excellent communication skills in English or French.
- Passive knowledge of the other Official Language in Canada is a requirement for tenure.
- Regular tenure-track academic appointment in the Faculty of Science.
- Competitive salary range for a full professor ($118,864 to $207,511).
