About the Role:

The Home Care Aide is a vital member of our home care team at Qualicare Calgary. As a Home Care Aide, you will work under the supervision of our Care Coordinator to provide personal care services to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Prepare meals and snacks for clients
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and cleaning
  • Accompany clients on outings and provide companionship
  • Assist with shopping and errands
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management
  • Assist with ambulation and transportation of clients
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Document and chart client care plans and progress

Requirements:

  • HCA certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student)
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Ability to travel around the Calgary area
  • Access to internet and mobile phone
