Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing processes and equipment, working closely with operating staff and leadership to ensure efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot process issues and provide technical guidance
  2. Participate in daily gemba walks and management meetings to stay informed about current performance
  3. Analyze technical information, production KPIs, defects, and warranty data to identify areas for improvement
  4. Develop and maintain standard work packages, including operating procedures, maintenance schedules, and quality control documentation

Operations Strategy

  1. Contribute to the review, planning, and design of manufacturing processes through Kaizens, 3P events, and other initiatives
  2. Develop practical capacity plans, labor calculations, process change cost estimates, and specifications

Project Support

  1. Provide technical assistance to other engineers, designers, quality personnel, cost accountants, and production associates
  2. Coordinate small-scale projects and participate in strategic initiatives, including new machine specification and commissioning
  3. Learn and apply MasterBrand Way tools for Daily Management, Standard Work, and Problem Solving
  4. Contribute to the LPA (quality audit) system and perform regular audits to ensure compliance

Requirements

  1. Requires independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to relate to all levels of employees and leaders
  2. Works in accordance with established engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices
  3. Ensures compliance with national and provincial codes, regulations, and company policies
  4. Demonstrates a commitment to safe work practices and adheres to company Health & Safety policies
  5. Has a strong understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
  6. Is proficient in computer-aided drafting and engineering drawings
  7. Performs other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in engineering or engineering technology (mechanical or industrial)
  2. Prefer 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or process environment
  3. Eligible for registration with APEGM or CET (an asset)
  4. Experience participating in or leading technical problem-solving, including root cause analysis
  5. Project management experience and/or PMP certification (an asset)
  6. Expertise in RFID technology or industrial paint systems (preferred)
