About the Role

Astellas Pharma Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our digital transformation initiative, you will play a crucial role in driving our digital strategy forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop comprehensive application solutions that address business needs and challenges.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms for application development projects.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and digital teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the development life cycle, from initial concept through to implementation and support.
  • Design and oversee the integration of new applications with existing systems and software.
  • Ensure application solutions are optimized for performance and user experience.
  • Comply with relevant regulations and standards, and incorporate security measures into the design to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Data Science.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated relevant experience in Pharma R&D Space, with a focus on clinical operations.
  • Direct experience implementing or consulting on known Life Sciences technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in specific areas of digital capability, such as Veeva R&D Vault.
  • Experience with Veeva configuration and implementation.
  • Strong background in software development, with expertise in multiple programming languages, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Deep understanding of architectural principles and design patterns, microservices, API design, and development methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and associated datasets, and create optimal technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
