Associate Director, Development and Fundraising

The Jewish Federations of North America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Development and Fundraising to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in securing funding for our organization's mission and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy, including the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) campaign, to increase support from existing donors and onboard new donors.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, prospects, and stakeholders through regular face-to-face meetings and strategic communication.
- Provide exceptional donor stewardship and recognition at all levels of the campaign, ensuring a positive and personalized experience for our donors.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteer fundraisers to achieve campaign goals and deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute a strategic communications plan in support of the annual campaign.
- Oversee special emergency campaigns, donor-directed special projects in Israel, and other initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate the timely processing of gifts and tax receipts with the Database Manager and Financial Officer.
- Perform various administrative and coordinating duties as required by leadership.
- Up to three years of experience in fundraising and donor relations, with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated skills in building relationships with community members and donors, with a strong capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate a clear and compelling case for giving.
- Knowledge of the Jewish community, customs, values, and traditions, including knowledge of Israel or a personal commitment to Jewish values, community, continuity, Israel, and global Jewry.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising software is an asset.
- Prior event or project management experience is also an asset.
