Financial Integration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Integration Specialist to join our team at GFL Environmental Inc. This role will play a critical part in supporting the integration of acquired entities, ensuring seamless financial reporting and process alignment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement detailed integration plans, coordinating tasks and tracking progress across all areas of finance.
- Provide pre-closing integration support, including reviewing due diligence materials, preparing financial assurance replacements, and coordinating supplier transitions.
- Monitor project health and provide support to the Integration Controller in preparing acquisition integration presentations.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure successful integration of financial and business processes.
- Review and analyze data, building integration data books and providing support in the integration of newly acquired entities.
- Map acquired entity trial balances to GFL's trial balance, ensuring consistency and alignment with account classification.
- Support the acquired entity's monthly and quarterly close process, creating GFL entries and monitoring balance sheet reconciliations.
- Designated CPA or pursuing designation, with 3-5+ years of related experience.
- Exceptional organization and project management skills.
- Strong accounting and external financial reporting knowledge.
- Good understanding of business processes, including Revenue Cycle and Procurement Cycle.
- Knowledge of Great Plains, Cognos, Tower, and Trux is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on detail and a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Primarily office-based at the main site operation.
- Travel required for acquisitions, with occasional weekend or evening work.
