Residence Worker with Overnight Awake Scheduling

Job Summary
In this role, you will work as a Residence Worker with Overnight Awake Scheduling, providing support to individuals in a residential setting. Your responsibilities will include participating in assessments and planning, implementing life skills training, and assisting with daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and plan for individuals in the program, documenting and implementing program evaluation.
- Provide life skills training, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal care skills.
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
- Participate in various activities in accordance with care plans.
- Recognize and deal with potential emergency situations, such as aggressive behavior.
- Administer medication according to established policy and procedures.
- Assist with case management and provide emotional support to individuals and their families.
- Transport and assist individuals to attend appointments and activities.
- Perform residential maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Maintain reports and statistics related to individual care.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in a related field, such as humanities or social work.
- Minimum two years of recent related experience in child and youth care.
- Previous experience with operating a licensed home and trauma-informed practice.
- Valid BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract.
- Valid CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates.
- Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate and/or MANDT and Conflict Resolution Certificate.
- Physician's note confirming suitability, including immunization records and a negative tuberculosis screening test.
