We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design and Development Engineer to join our team at Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax, Canada.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan.

Job Description

As an Electrical Design and Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for naval vessels. This will include reviewing technical specifications, developing solutions to complex problems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or related field;
  • 0-6 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the shipbuilding industry;
  • Understanding of how to apply standards applicable to role, with guidance;
  • General awareness of shipyard disciplines, including hull structure, ship arrangements, ship piping systems, propulsion, HVAC, mechanical, producibility, manufacturing;
  • Some exposure to or interest in marine field through work experience or academic study;
