Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all production activities to meet established standards of production, safety, quality, and delivery times, while reducing costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 15 unionized employees to achieve production targets in terms of quality and delivery times.
  • Follow the production plan provided by the Production Planner.
  • Ensure the smooth transition of work between shifts.
  • Identify and report defects and non-conformities in products.
  • Report machine problems to the respective department supervisors.
  • Participate in identifying training needs.
  • Resolve work-related problems and recommend measures to increase productivity to the respective department supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with operational best practices and quality standards on the shop floor to meet various quality requirements, including ISO 9000 and NADCAP.
  • Approve work performed by operators.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Respect and promote workplace health and safety rules.
  • Participate in accident investigations in their sector.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Required Profile
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage emergencies.
  • Organizational, planning, and priority management skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Follow health and safety practices at work.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment (an asset).
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in French, both written and spoken.
