About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Certified Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Alberta Health Services.

This is a $65,000 - $85,000 per year opportunity for an individual who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal assistance to patients, including supporting activities of daily living and support services in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide routine care, meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, caregivers, and health professionals.
Requirements
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Minimum 1 year of Health Care Aide experience in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supportive Pathways or equivalent dementia care education or experience.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with seniors.
