We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installation Specialist to join our team at Maple Ridge Carpet One Center 2014 Ltd. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for installing various types of flooring, including carpeting, hardwood, and resilient floor coverings. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all installations are completed to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of flooring installation techniques and principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered: Ensure accurate measurements and markings to guarantee a proper fit.
  • Prepare flooring plans and scheduling: Coordinate with colleagues to plan and schedule installations efficiently.
  • Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors: Install carpeting smoothly and evenly, using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings: Install vinyl or resilient tiles, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors: Lay down hardwood strip flooring or intricate patterns, requiring attention to detail.
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants: Safely remove old flooring and clean the area before installation.
  • Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces: Extend your expertise beyond traditional floor installation.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate: A basic education requirement for this role.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience: A minimum amount of time spent honing your trade skills.
Work Environment

As a Flooring Installation Specialist, you can expect a physically demanding job with occasional heavy lifting and handling of materials. However, we prioritize workplace safety and provide necessary training and equipment to ensure your comfort and success.
