Youth Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team in the Tri-Cities/Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam/Port Moody area. This dynamic role will provide hospital-to-community-based outreach support services to children and adolescents experiencing mental health, behavioral, substance use, and developmental problems.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is CAD $42.27 - $52.81 per hour. We offer a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive health benefits coverage and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Job DescriptionThis challenging yet rewarding role involves providing one-to-one counselling, individual and group interventions, and implementing and assisting in mental health and substance use treatment plans. You will work closely with clients, their caregivers, and families to develop and implement personalized recovery plans. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting these individuals to achieve optimal well-being and independence.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client behavior, emotional, and mental status through knowledge of mental health disorders.
- Provide individual and group counseling to children and adolescents using various strategies and techniques.
- Triage referrals, share workload responsibilities, and report on client progress and condition.
- Facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs.
- Observe and support individuals in appropriate medication management.
- Maintain accurate client records and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide direction to volunteers, assist with new staff orientation, and participate in quality improvement activities.
