Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Lands and Culture Operations Manager. This key role will provide direct support to the Director of Lands and Culture in managing team operations, fostering a positive and effective team environment, and executing strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director and the rest of the Lands, Language and Culture teams to expand land and culture stewardship of Kanaka Bar Indian Band.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a key advisor and support to the Director in all aspects of team management and operations.
  • Work closely with the Director to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the Lands and Culture Department.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Director, including managing schedules, preparing reports, and coordinating communications.
  • Assist the Director in communicating effectively with the team, community members, and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in organizational management, Indigenous governance, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum three years of experience in a leadership or operational role, preferably in a First Nations context.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, staff development, and operations management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, governance systems, and protocols.
