Job Title: Apprentice Plumber

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our team at District Mechanical. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will assist experienced plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
  • Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations.
Requirements:
  • Apprentice Plumber certification or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
