About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our team at District Mechanical. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Repair and replace damaged or faulty plumbing components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
  • Measure and cut pipes to the required shape and size.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations.
Requirements
  • Apprenticeship training in plumbing.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
