Job Title: Plumber Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Apprentice to join our team at District Mechanical. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in plumbing principles and practices, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship. You will work closely with our experienced plumbers to develop your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
  • Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations
Requirements:
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Level one apprenticeship training
  • Level two apprenticeship training
  • Level three apprenticeship training
  • Level four apprenticeship training
  • Level five apprenticeship training
Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in confined spaces, handle heavy loads, and work in wet/damp environments.
