Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation, Communication, and Network Systems Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our electrical/automation team, you will work with various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations.

Your primary duties will include automation, communications, and network systems design and analysis in accordance with applicable codes for surface and underground mining operations. You will also prepare quality reports and calculation packages as project deliverables, and report project progression updates and/or issues to Lead Designers or Project Managers.

Excellent knowledge of applicable design codes and familiarity with Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations are required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, are also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Automation, communications, and network systems design and analysis in accordance with applicable codes for surface and underground mining operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering license is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, particularly surface or underground mining.
  • Required technical experience in Mine Services Process Control & Instrumentation Design, Hoisting System Process Control and Interfaces, Mine Automation/Communication Systems Design, Network switch programming, PLC/HMI Process Control Systems, and Wireless Systems.
