Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at A&W. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish Methods to Meet Work Schedules: Develop and implement efficient methods to meet work schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities of Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Train Staff in Job Duties: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Estimate Ingredient and Supplies: Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, ensuring that all necessary items are ordered and stocked.
  • Hire Food Service Staff: Hire food service staff, ensuring that all new hires are properly trained and equipped to provide exceptional service.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, ensuring that all customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.
  • Prepare Budget and Cost Estimates: Prepare budget and cost estimates, ensuring that all financial aspects of the food service department are properly managed.
  • Address Customer Complaints: Address customer complaints or concerns, ensuring that all customers receive exceptional service and are satisfied with their experience.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, ensuring that all financial and operational aspects of the food service department are properly tracked and managed.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare and submit reports, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of the food service department's performance and any areas for improvement.

  • Provides Physical Accessibility: Provides physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps and elevators, to ensure that all customers and staff have equal access to our facilities.

  • Offers Mentorship: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Provides Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Applies Inclusive Recruitment: Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities, ensuring that all candidates have equal opportunities to join our team.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participates in Newcomer Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support newcomers and/or refugees, ensuring that our facilities and services are accessible and inclusive.
  • Assists with Settlement Needs: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Supports Labour Market Integration: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, such as facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruits Newcomers: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, such as Ukraine and Afghanistan.
  • Supports Credential Recognition: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Offers Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Provides Diversity Training: Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
Support for Youths:
  • Participates in Youth Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support youth employment, ensuring that our facilities and services are accessible and inclusive.
  • Offers On-the-Job Training: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Offers Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Provides Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
Support for Veterans:
  • Participates in Veteran Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support Veterans, ensuring that our facilities and services are accessible and inclusive.
  • Offers Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Provides Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Recruits Veterans: Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives, such as job fairs and outreach programs.
  • Assists with Transition Needs: Assists with immediate transition needs of Veterans, such as relocation and housing.
  • Offers Workshops and Counseling: Offers workshops, counseling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.
  • Supports Skill Translation: Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
  • Offers Flexible Onboarding: Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participates in Indigenous Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support Indigenous people, ensuring that our facilities and services are accessible and inclusive.
  • Offers Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Develops Relationships: Develops and maintains relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, ensuring that our facilities and services are accessible and inclusive.
  • Provides Cultural Training: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service and support.
