Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at StockYard Meat Products. As a key member of our retail and wholesale operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meats to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare meats for processing and cutting
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters to meet customer specifications
  • Trim and prepare standard cuts of meat for sale
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for display and sale
  • Remove bones from meat and cut poultry into parts
  • Weigh meats for sale and price meat products accurately
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets, and clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale
  • Sell meats to customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers as needed
  • Grind meats and train meat cutters on new techniques and procedures
Work Environment

As a Meat Cutter at StockYard Meat Products, you will work in a fast-paced retail and wholesale environment. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Reliability and dependability
