Our client, a leading boutique law firm in British Columbia, is seeking a full-time Family Paralegal to join their team in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients and opposing counsel to collect, review, and produce documents.
- Draft routine correspondence and review documents for relevance and privilege.
- Prepare pleadings, including form F8 Financial Statements, affidavits, notices of application, and lists of documents.
- Review and prepare transcript summaries.
- Assist lawyers with all aspects of trial preparations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of litigation experience, with a preference for family law experience.
- Successful completion of a post-secondary LAA and/or paralegal program or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge of BC Supreme Court Rules, court practices, and procedures, as well as filing deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of the Family Law Act.
- Ability to work overtime if required.
- Experience with Adobe, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and DivorceMate.
- Exceptional time management and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent judgment and discretion.
- High client service orientation.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in file organization and time management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $95,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, vision, and dental coverage, long-term disability insurance, and professional development opportunities.
