Shop Technician

At SunSource, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Technician to join our team. As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, components, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair and maintain industrial equipment, components, and systems, including development of repair plans and sequences.
- Determine necessary parts, materials, and tooling, and perform repairs properly and safely.
- Perform quality assurance testing of repair components or systems and machines in a timely and efficient manner.
- Generate, maintain, and complete all necessary reports, including parts ordering, special tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closure.
- Use and understand proper test equipment, blueprints, technical data, and service manuals to troubleshoot repairs.
- Retrieve and return parts and/or materials through our company's parts ordering system.
- Use our company's computer systems to manage work processes.
- Retrieve and return special tools as needed, and maintain proper care and use of special tools, including major shop equipment.
- Project positive behaviors by interacting with coworkers, customers, vendors, suppliers, and visitors through constructive working relationships.
- Operate a lathe or mill to fabricate metal or plastic parts.
- Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at our facilities.
- Fabricate hose assemblies per supplier's specification, including set-up and calibration of equipment, cleaning, inspection, measuring, and testing.
- Adhere to all site safety and performance requirements.
- Communicate timely updates to management and coworkers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Work closely with coworkers, management, and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- High school/secondary school diploma
- Training or certification in a related technical area is preferred
- Previous experience in working with power/hand tools, saws, machine equipment, tube benders, and calipers
- Excellent communication skills and customer relationship traits
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to lift 50lbs
