Position Overview

The incumbent is primarily responsible for teaching, monitoring, and evaluating the clinical skills of Ultrasound students in collaboration with the Manager, Diagnostic Services and the Educational Coordinator. The incumbent assists in scheduling students' clinical rotations and ensures they obtain practical scanning experience. The incumbent also provides timely oral and written student progress reports and functions as a general duty sonographer to maintain scanning skills and learn new techniques.

Experience

  • General Ultrasound and Echocardiography experience.
  • Five years' professional experience in a Health Care setting.
  • Teaching experience or a certificate in education is preferred.
  • Experience working with Radiology Information System and Picture and Archiving system.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Radiography, Nursing, Nuclear Medicine, or a related technical field.
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound Training Certificate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Basic Current Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to display independent judgment.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
