Job Title: Ultrasound Clinical Instructor

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Clinical Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Services department, you will be responsible for teaching, monitoring, and evaluating the clinical skills of Ultrasound students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and mentor Ultrasound students in a clinical setting, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become competent sonographers.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them improve their skills.
  • Assist in the scheduling of student clinical rotations and ensure they obtain practical scanning experience.
  • Provide timely oral and written student progress reports to the Manager, Diagnostic Services and the Educational Coordinator.
Requirements:
  • 5 years' professional experience in a Health Care setting, with a focus on General Ultrasound and Echocardiography.
  • Experience in teaching and/or a certificate in education is preferred.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Radiography, Nursing, Nuclear Medicine, or a similar related technical field.
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound Training Certificate.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or (RDSC) certification.
  • Active member with the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic Current Life Support Instructor course.
  • Evidence of continuing education/professional development.
  • Competent with Windows-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership, written and oral communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
