Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Representative to join our team in London, ON. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties, processing work orders, and ensuring the smooth operation of our apartment buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process work orders for the site, ensuring timely completion and closure.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all work order submissions for the assigned site.
  • Log maintenance requests and involve other team members to effectively resolve resident work orders.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, schedule repairs with contractors and provide notice of entries to residents.
  • Perform daily audits of outstanding work orders and follow up on progress.
  • Close completed work orders within Homestead's online Maintenance Portal.
  • Inventory materials and submit orders to replenish stock.

General Maintenance Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing faucets, taps, toilets, valves, showerheads, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Change smoke detectors, light switches, fluorescent tubes, receptacles, fuses, fixtures, ceiling fans, stove elements, and oven elements.
  • Test generators and perform other electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Change countertops, door locks, mail locks, doors, closets, cupboards, shelves, door closers, cabinets, kick plates, towel bars, hinges, drawer slides, and repair cracks/holes in drywall.
  • Conduct regular maintenance walks to identify and address potential issues.
  • Repair and report common area deficiencies, including faulty door closures, light bulbs, plaster blisters, graffiti, and vandalism.
  • Reset fire alarms, operate fire extinguishers, and inspect fire systems.

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent mobility and mechanical background.
  • Cleaning skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Administratively organized and patient with residents.
