Job Summary

As a Vehicle Technical Specialist at Randstad Canada, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing LAV vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Train and supervise regular drive team members on LAV vehicle maintenance and repair

Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Perform and oversee minor rework tasks and other LAV vehicle deficiencies

Provide support to field service representative mechanics and other team members as needed

Conduct operator-level vehicle preventative maintenance checks and services

Move vehicles as required for maintenance and repair

Requirements

College diploma or equivalent military certification

Ability to meet physical demands of the job and anthropometrical size requirements for confined space

Proficient communication, organization, and prioritization skills

Proven ability to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision

Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to obtain a valid Canadian Firearms Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous LAV repair and maintenance experience with GDLS-C products

Previous military experience in a Land Combat Arms unit as a maintainer

Advanced computer skills to include MS Office, DMIS/Oracle, and ASAT

High level of oral and written communication skills

Ability to obtain/maintain a valid passport

Work Environment

Manufacturing/shop floor environment with some office work

Hazards include heavy machinery, noise, dust, paint, temperature fluctuations, and hand tools

Physical Demands

Typical postures include standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lying down, and reaching at working heights

Tasks require working in a vertical space of 105 to 135 cm and may involve sitting, crawling, crouching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, and/or lying down to access some areas

The worker may also be required to lay on a creeper to complete work under the vehicle

Vertical clearance under the vehicle is approximately 65 cm
