Job Title: Registered Counsellor

Job Summary:

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a passionate Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT) or Social Worker (MSW) to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide goal-focused, therapeutic approaches for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients' treatment plans and goals, progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
  • Deliver quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Population Treated:

  • Adults from various third-party insurers and programs, including Traumatic Psychological Injury (TPI), Motor Vehicle Accident Victims (MVA), Long Term Disability (LTD), and Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS).

Licensing:

  • Fully licensed as an RCT with the Nova Scotia College of Registered Counselling Therapists.
  • OR Social Worker registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers as an autonomous practitioner in good standing (Must have a Masters of Social Work).

Experience:

  • Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
  • Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
  • Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
  • Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
  • Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience preparing assessment, progress, and discharge reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
