Counselling Therapist Role

As a Counselling Therapist at Lifemark Health Group, you will provide high-quality counselling services to clients addressing psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness. You will adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach to alleviate distress and improve social and occupational functioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients' treatment plans and goals.
  • Deliver quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Population Treated:

  • Adults with traumatic psychological injuries, motor vehicle accident victims, long-term disability, and partners in Canadian veterans rehabilitation services.

Licensing:

  • Fully licensed as an RCT with the Nova Scotia College of Registered Counselling Therapists.
  • OR Social Worker registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers as an autonomous practitioner in good standing.

Experience:

  • Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
  • Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome is an asset.
  • Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches.
