About Us

The Ministry of Education, Robarts School for the Deaf in London, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch, requires skilled ASL-English Interpreters to provide interpreting services in educational programs for students and staff who do not share the same language or culture.

Salary

$1,569.09 - $1,964.16 Per Week*

*Indicates the salary listed as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.

Job Description

This role involves providing interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in various settings, including administrative and professional situations, training sessions, and workshops. As an ASL-English Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals with different languages and cultural backgrounds.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting
  • Fluency in American Sign Language and English
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI)
  • Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Additionally, experience interpreting in both small and large group settings is highly valued.
