About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Estimator to join our team at Altima Contracting Ltd. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, including preparation of estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms.
  • Conduct quantity take-off procedures to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards.
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as construction estimating or project management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
