Job Title: Junior Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team at Altima Contracting Ltd. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, providing economic feasibility studies, and creating and submitting estimate reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Conduct economic feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed projects
  • Develop and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project profitability
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
