Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Property Desk Adjuster to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims by telephone, correspondence, and when required through mediation and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and analyze claims information to determine coverage, liability, and quantum.
  • Accurately record, report, and present files to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims to achieve fair and timely settlements.
  • Maintain accurate billing, time, and expense records.
  • Work with managers to maintain client relationships and resolve complex claims.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of technical claims handling experience in commercial property claims handling.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is an asset.
  • Experience in multiline claims, complex claim handling, legal proceedings, and litigation management.
  • CIP designation or working towards CIP designation is required.
  • Independent Adjuster Licensed with the ability to maintain a full adjusting license in your home province.
  • Strong computer and reporting skills, including Office 365 and Windows 10.
  • A team player with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong PC skills, including application-based skills.
  • Complete continuing education courses as required by Crawford and Company, province, or professional trade association.
