Job Summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster - Property and Casualty to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating property and casualty claims, negotiating settlements, and maintaining customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate property and casualty claims through loss investigation and negotiation of settlements
  • Interview claimants and witnesses to gather information
  • Obtain official documents and compare claims information with evidence
  • Determine liability and make offers to claimants
  • Issue cheques and dispose of salvage
  • Pursue subrogation and maintain accurate billing and time and expense records
  • Work with manager to maintain client relationships

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years functional and technical experience in an insurance environment
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field considered an asset
  • Licensed or working towards CIP designation
  • Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis required
  • Bilingual in French considered an asset
  • Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth
