Job Summary

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the school's facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Operate various equipment, such as floor machines and auto scrubbers, to maintain the school's floors and surfaces.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the school's facilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work-related experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a custodial or maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Fire Safety Standards and procedures, as well as security procedures.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift maximum 25 kg (55 lb).
