Job Summary

The Claims Adjuster - Bodily Injury is a key role within the CAA Club Group, responsible for overseeing and handling automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle bodily injury claims. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to excel in a high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and guidance to external adjusters on outsourced claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate personal and commercial lines claims of moderate to high complexity, utilizing strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism, maintaining control over expenses through proactive handling techniques.
  • Direct vendor partners as necessary, ensuring seamless claim resolution.
  • Obtain approval from Manager on claims exceeding authority, ensuring compliance with Corporate protocols and guidelines.
  • Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials, and settlement conferences, demonstrating expertise in insurance contracts and principles.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in insurance and claims management.
  • CIP or working towards designation, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience handling casualty claims, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skillset, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictions, with knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, and coverage issues.
  • Ability to cross-reference information with attention to detail, with strong general computer knowledge and proficiency in relevant software applications.
