We are seeking a skilled Disability Claims Adjudicator to join our team at People Corporation. As a Disability Claims Adjudicator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients receive fair and timely decisions on their disability claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and assess short-term disability applications to determine eligibility and entitlement to benefits.
- Communicate with clients, employers, and healthcare professionals to gather necessary information and evaluate claims.
- Ensure that all applications are complete and accurate, and that all pertinent information is secured for assessment.
- Evaluate claims and make decisions based on medical and contractual requirements.
- Communicate decisions to clients in a clear and timely manner.
- Resolve client issues and concerns in an accurate and timely manner.
- Oversee cases until return to work or refer claims for case management, as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a health-related field.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required.
- Minimum two years experience in a medical, benefits administration, or claims setting.
- Understanding of medical and mental health conditions and treatments.
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ability to respond effectively to challenging and time-sensitive situations.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in handling confidential medical information.
- Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflict.
