The Risk Management Department plays a crucial role in the sustainable growth of Societe Generale de Surveillance SA by leveraging its expertise, risk understanding, and risk management techniques.

The department's mission is to independently analyze, assess, manage, and monitor risk-taking activities with the objective of achieving the best possible outcome for the bank.

Job Description

As a Model Risk Management (MRM) team member, you will oversee model risk management and supervise the model risk management function for SG Americas regions. Your main tasks include designing and implementing the model risk management system, managing the model approval process, and monitoring models' performance.

In this role, you will participate in developing and maintaining the continuous model monitoring framework to assess models' performance and risk management. You will work closely with Senior Quantitative Advisors and the team Manager to conduct independent model reviews and verify data input quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent model review of relevant models employed in SG Americas at all stages of their lifecycle.
  • Assess model conceptual soundness to ensure consistency of model design.
  • Verify data input quality and processing using large datasets.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, or STEM.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in model development, validation, or a front-office quant role; fewer years accepted with a PhD.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, C++, or similar, with advanced knowledge of statistics and machine learning.
  • Experience working with large datasets and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with model risk management practices and regulatory requirements.
