At PowerON Energy Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Financial Director to join our senior management team. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead our financial functions and contribute to the growth of our business.

Job Description

This role requires outstanding leadership, strategic planning, critical thinking, and communication skills. As the Strategic Financial Director, you will be responsible for:

  1. Financial Reporting: Process owner for accurate financial reporting, including month/year-end closing, full cycle accounting, operational functions such as AP, AR, Treasury, and Payroll.
  2. Financial Planning: Direct and complete financial statements, business plan, budget proposals, and forecast updates.
  3. Performance Metrics: Develop key performance metrics and work with the leadership team for alignment with business direction and vision.
  4. Financial Governance: Implement performance measures and financial targets with department heads.
  5. Risk Assessment: Perform sensitivity analysis and highlight risks to financial plans.
  6. Reporting and Scorecard: Publish internal management reports and scorecard progression with forecast.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide advisory views on all matters relating to financial management and accounting topics.
  8. Contract Negotiations: Support contract negotiations and investment decisions.
  9. Internal Controls: Establish governance framework, implement internal controls to protect financial integrity.
  10. Due Diligence: Perform all due diligence requirements for parent company consolidation.
  11. Regulatory Compliance: Compliance with regulatory reporting and filing requirements, including GST/HST, withholding, PD7A, T4's, WSIB, EHT.

We are offering a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements

  1. Leadership Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership role working in a construction or service delivery environment.
  2. Professional Certifications: CPA in good standing.
  3. Financial Expertise: Proven experience in managing financial and operational reporting, full cycle accounting, business plan, and forecasting under US GAAP.
  4. Technical Skills: Expertise in revenue recognition, lease accounting, financial risk assessment, development of internal controls, and audits.
  5. Presentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to present complex financial information to executives and non-finance Board stakeholders.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in driving cross-functional efforts to improve performance metrics and supporting project excellence.
  7. Governmental and Regulatory Reporting: Governmental and regulatory reporting experience.
  8. ERP Experience: ERP experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central is an asset.
  9. Leadership Development: Proven ability to develop, motivate, and engage staff effectively.
  10. Communication Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Team Player: Team player with a growth mindset.
