Job Overview

As a seasoned Construction Site Manager, you will oversee multiple construction sites in Edmonton, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Director, Operations, to drive site activities and ensure compliance with established design, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Effective communication with trade partners and suppliers to coordinate material delivery and labor installation, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Daily site inspections to verify that work meets Qualico's stringent standards and all relevant building and safety codes are adhered to.
  • Hazard assessments as part of the company's robust safety program, emphasizing employee well-being and safety above all else.
  • Interpreting plans and specifications, identifying potential issues, and collaborating with the project management team to resolve discrepancies or errors.
  • Supervising and developing on-site team members, providing guidance, and ensuring clear direction is given to facilitate efficient task completion in a safe working environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to Qualico's Safety Program and relevant safety legislation, conducting site safety orientations, leading regular safety meetings, and completing required reporting.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers through pre-possession home inspections, addressing inquiries or concerns, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Providing regular progress reports to the project management team, facilitating informed decision-making and timely issue resolution.

This role requires:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of site superintendent experience in residential construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple construction sites simultaneously.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of a criminal record check.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel), and construction management software (BuildPro, NewStar, etc.).
  • Physical ability to perform basic construction duties.
