About This Role

At WIH Construction Inc, we are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee our construction projects from start to finish. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of our projects on time and within budget.

Job Description
  • We are offering a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • As a Construction Site Supervisor, you will have overall responsibility for managing construction sites, including supervising workers, coordinating materials, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • You will work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that projects are completed to the highest standard.
Requirements
  • A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required, but a degree in a related field such as construction management or engineering would be advantageous.
  • You should have at least 3 years of experience in a construction-related role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for this role, as well as a strong understanding of construction practices and procedures.
Work Setting

This is a permanent position that requires you to work on-site at various locations throughout your region. You can expect to work up to 40 hours per week, although this may vary depending on the specific project requirements.

Tasks
  1. You will prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for each project, taking into account factors such as location, weather conditions, and resource availability.
  2. Using blueprints, drawings, and sketches, you will determine work requirements and create detailed plans for each project.
  3. You will be responsible for preparing layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
  4. You will measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials, as needed.
  5. You will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, always adhering to safety guidelines.
  6. You will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, working closely with other tradespeople to ensure a smooth workflow.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • This role is physically demanding and requires regular lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • The work term for this position is permanent, and you will work a standard 32-40 hour workweek.
  • English is the primary language spoken in the workplace, and proficiency in English is essential for effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
