Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil and Formwork

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in the Heavy Civil and Formwork division. As a key member of our estimation team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive estimates for heavy civil and formwork projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage tender processes from invitation to submission
  2. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost estimations for heavy civil and formwork projects
  3. Review project scopes and complete bid forms with precision
  4. Conduct site visits and attend bid interviews to ensure accurate project understanding
  5. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices
  6. Prepare RFIs with clients to clarify project requirements
  7. Maintain accurate tender trackers and monitor submissions
  8. Follow up with clients throughout the bidding process to ensure timely and accurate communication
  9. Collaborate with the operations team to review production and ensure smooth project execution
  10. Mentor and train junior team members to develop their estimation skills
  11. Present bid opportunities to management for review and approval
  12. Proactively seek out new heavy civil and formwork opportunities through industry networks, market analysis, and strategic partnerships

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction and estimation
  • 4+ years of experience in estimation, with a focus on heavy civil and formwork projects
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate and comprehensive estimates

About the Organisation:

Our client is a leading construction group with multiple divisions, including Civil construction, Shoring, Formwork, Excavation, Demolition, and residential high-rise construction. They operate across Canada and are committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
