Job Title: Environmental Services Assistant

At Verve Senior Living, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental Services Assistant to join our team. As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our retirement residence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on equipment and supplies within the residence.
  • Monitor and maintain environmental fire safety conditions, equipment, and alarm systems.
  • Perform regular monthly maintenance checks of all equipment and supplies within the residence.
  • Perform monthly maintenance checks of the building, equipment, grounds, and residences.
  • Maintain the exterior grounds, including salting, snow removal, and weed control.
  • Perform minor plumbing, remove and install toilets, faucets, water supply hoses, and flow valves.
  • Maintain required records and reports as outlined in the policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
  • Follow established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
  • Participate in staff meetings and applicable educational training.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 education.
  • At least one year's experience in the electrical or mechanical trades is preferred.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
  • Able and willing to perform physical duties inside and outside the home when necessary.
  • Must be able to move heavy objects and have the ability to co-operate with staff.
  • Will be required to work weekends on a rotational schedule.
  • Must be available for emergency call-in as needed.
