About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Concurrent Disorder Specialist to join our team in Powell River Mental Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to clients experiencing substance misuse and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments, including DSM IV diagnosis, and develop treatment plans that address both substance misuse and mental health needs.
  • Establish and maintain non-judgmental therapeutic relationships with clients, collaborating with colleagues and community resources to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Contribute to program-sponsored research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance our services and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a Behavioural Health Discipline from a recognized program.
  • Three (3) years' recent experience providing professional services to clients with substance abuse and mental health issues, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License, with local area travel requiring the use of a personal vehicle.
