We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Department Head to lead our Addictions Medicine department at Surrey Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for coordinating functions and activities of department members, participating in the Multidisciplinary Healthcare Coordinating Committee, and ensuring effective delivery of clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate functions and activities of department members to ensure effective delivery of clinical services
- Participate in the Multidisciplinary Healthcare Coordinating Committee to discuss and address departmental and facility-wide issues
- Monitor and report on volume and quality targets, and ensure alignment with regional and site service delivery plans
- Encourage quality improvement and utilization management activities among department members
- Investigate complaints regarding care provided by medical staff and report findings to the Regional Department Head
- Attend meetings of the Multidisciplinary Healthcare Coordinating Committee and serve as a channel of communication between the regional department and department members
- Recommend policies and guidelines related to medical/clinical matters, consistent with Medical Staff by-laws and rules
- Promote health and wellness among department members and encourage a healthy, respectful workplace
- Review physician resource requirements with the Regional Department Head and contribute to the selection of new staff members
- Mediate disputes involving department members and identify potential liability issues and legal problems
- CCFP (Certified Canadian Family Physician) certification
- CPSBC Full membership
- Member of the Department
