Big Instance Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test telecommunications equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Install and arrange telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment and troubleshoot transmission faults
  • Analyze test results and adjust or repair switching systems, networks, and associated equipment
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and initiate repair personnel dispatch
  • Install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems, circuits, and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centers
  • Instruct apprentices and operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems, including cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors
  • Manual dexterity and ability to climb and work aloft
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, and flexibility
Work Environment:

As a Telecommunications Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures, and work in confined spaces.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Hours:

The work hours are 37.5 hours per week.
