Fraser Health is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) program, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement OH&S policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop control measures to mitigate hazards
  • Provide training and education to staff on OH&S principles and practices
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and develop corrective actions
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as WorkSafeBC, and respond to inspections and orders
Requirements
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
