Job Overview
Bantrel is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Manager - Underground Infrastructure Specialist to join our team based out of Toronto, ON.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Field Specialists in the construction engineering work across multiple disciplines of the project. This role involves providing engineering assistance to superintendents, directing assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifying materials, equipment, and quality, and ensuring results meet design requirements.
The Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project scope includes the design build, operations, and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment. The project is being performed by three key PPP Contractors and five advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors.
The new Ontario Line station in Corktown will enhance access to this emerging neighborhood and the nearby Distillery District. This station will connect with popular surface routes, including the King Streetcar, 65 Parliment bus, and Cherry Street bus.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing Parent Company (PCo) works at Corktown Station Park Station, representing the Delivery Partner (DP) on site.
- Maintaining high-quality daily records of observations and other information gathered, including site personnel, materials, equipment, work completed, and issues arising.
- Reviewing deliverables and other submittals prepared by PCo related to construction or construction support for Corktown Station Park Station, identifying non-conformances or items requiring addressing.
- Ensuring that PCo works at Corktown Station Park Station are in accordance with the contract in terms of health, safety, environment, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
- Reporting progress, identifying risks, highlighting emerging issues, and escalating to the Project Manager for Corktown Station Park Station.
- Providing input to plans and actions to address non-conformances, avoid or mitigate risks, and mitigate emerging issues.
- Engaging discipline leads for subject matter expertise in health & safety, environment, quality, contracts, project controls, and interfaces.
- Validating progress reports and other data prepared by the DP and PCo against own observations and records.
Requirements
- A relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with 5-7 years of experience in construction supervision roles with responsibility for constructing infrastructure of similar scope, size, and complexity.
- Experience working on infrastructure mega-projects, preferably rail projects in urban areas.
- Good relationship building and communication skills, as well as fluency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H).
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
